Puru Raj Kumar's second coming
31st Aug 2000
By N K Deoshi

After being in oblivion for a long time, Puru Raj Kumar, son of the legendary actor Raj Kumar, has made his second coming in the tinsel town with Hamara Dil Aapke Paas Hai.

This time he plays a bad guy who violates the film's heroine Aishwarya.

As a newcomer Puru did not have a dream entry into Bollywood, courtesy his forgettable debut in Prakash Mehra directed Bal Brahmachari. Moreover, soon after the film's release and its debacle yet another tragedy struck Puru, his father bade adieu to the world. Film career as a result took the back seat for the bereaving Puru.

But now, having come out of the tragedy, Puru is back to square one—re-inventing his film career. And unlike other star kids, he does not have a godfather to provide him with a launching pad. Yet he is determined to make his mark in the tinsel town all by himself.

He has already clinched a lead role opposite Shabrani Mukherjee (of Border fame) in forthcoming Aap Jaisa Koi Nahin. Besides he is also working in another film Desh.

Whether he beholds the famous—though much hackneyed—proverb 'like father like son' remains to be seen.
