Mission Kashmir can be in deep trouble if Vidhu Vinod Chopra doesn't pull his act together, and that too fast.
We know very well how fiercely possessive our literati is of its work. And why shouldn't it be, especially when filmmakers blatantly lift from their treasures and convert them into celluloid pleasures?
There is no denying that there are those decent set of directors and producers who acknowledge their source of artistic influence, and at the same time there are those filmmakers who care a damn about plagiarism and pretend the ideas to be their own.
One didn't expect Vidhu to be a part of this category. One of the songs of his latest film Mission Kashmir titled 'Bhumbro Bhumbro' is allegedly lifted from poet Dina Nath Nedum's poem.
An enraged Dina Nath's son Shantivar Kaul accused Vidhu of copyright infringement. Kaul said that there was no harm in borrowing from his father's collection, but the least Vidhu could have done was given the credit.
Now it is up to Vidhu to sort out the problem and ensure a smooth release of Mission…, for Hrithik's fans' sake at least.
