In the light of her non-happening career in Bollywood Priya Gill, the petite lass who played Shahrukh's lover girl in Mansoor Khan's "Josh", is headed for south to daub the greasepaint for a Tamil flick.
Reports say that NIC Arts (the producers of hit Tamil films like "Citizen" and "Mugavari") has signed Priya to play the female lead opposite the handsome Ajith in their latest yet-to-be-titled film. From whatever little has been revealed, Priya plays the tomboyish girlfriend of Ajith (who sports a clean shaven head in the film).
The film, being directed by debutant director Ram Satya, also sees the comeback of Salim Ghouse who was once popular as a villain in Tamil films. Others in the credits include Rajan P. Dev, Raghuvaran and Srividya.
Several romantic and action sequences have already been shot on Priya and Ajith at the Annapurna Studios where film's art director Sabu Cyril has recreated a part of Madurai town in a lavish set.
Ever since Priya first stepped under the arc lamps of tinsel town she hasn't had much luck at the turnstiles. Her inconsequential debut in "Tere Mere Sapne" (opposite Chandrachud Singh) apart, Priya also failed to make any mark in her movies like "Josh" and Boney Kapoor's "Sirf Tum".
Now, to revive her sagging career, she is following the example of unsuccessful heroines like Lisa Ray and Rinke Khanna and trying her luck down south.
