It was meant to be the engagement ceremony of Abhishek and Karisma. But vivacious Sonali Bendre sprang a surprise by announcing her engagement with filmmaker Goldie Behl at Amitabh Bachchan’s birthday bash.
While Sonali’s love affair with Behl had for long been a staple for the gossipmongers, the svelte actress had always evaded an early engagement as she first wanted to “make a niche in Bollywood”.
And now that Sonali has made her presence felt – more emphatically down south than in Bollywood – she seems to be taking first steps towards moving away from spinster-hood.
At the recently held birthday bash of Big B at Mumbai’s J W Marriott Hotel, Sonali surprised everyone by making a formal announcement of her engagement with long-standing beau Goldie Behl.
After the announcement the Bachchan clan joined Sonali and Goldie on the dance floor.
Goldie, who is on friendly terms with the Bachchan’s, had made his directorial debut with Bas Itna Sa Khwab Hai that starred Abhishek Bachchan in the leading role.
