Come Friday and Cricketer Vinod Kambli will be seen playing a different inning on silver screen with the release of director Ravi Dewan’s Annarth.
The film, co-starring Sunil Shetty and Sanjay Dutt, has Kambli playing a happy-go-lucky lad Bandya. Also paired alongside the bald-pated Cricketer will be comely Preeti Jhangiani.
About his role in the film Kambli says he plays a ‘sprightly character’, which is pretty close to his real personality.
For his screen debut, Kambli is particularly thankful to actor Sunil Shetty who, he says, not only initiated him into Hindi film industry but also acted as a guide and a mentor.
As the film is slated to hit the theatres on Friday, Kambli admits to feeling a bit jittery. He equates the emotion with what he felt when he played cricket for India for the first time.
He also concedes that what he most eagerly awaiting is his wife Noella's reaction to the film.
