With a film each of Karisma and Kareena Kapoor slated to hit the marquee on Friday, the Kapoor girls will be seen vying for a hit at the box office.
Both Kapoor sisters have not had a successful film at the turnstiles for a long time and both are pinning hopes on their forthcoming films to rev up their sagging career. Yet, there are fears that both films, scheduled for a release on the same day, might eat into each other’s market share.
Karisma, whose last film Rishtey bit the dust at the marquee, is optimistic about director Tinu Verma’s suspense thriller Baaz that also stars Jackie Shroff, Sunil Shetty, Dino Morea and Preeti Jhangiani.
The film has Karisma playing a young interior designer who is stalked by a psycho.
Kareena, on the other hand, has not had a single hit since Mujhe Kucch Kehna Hai. Even her last film with Akshay Kumar Talaash proved to be a debacle at the box office.
And interestingly, she is no less hopeful than her elder sister that her forthcoming film Khushi with Fardeen Khan will put an end to the jinx of flops for her.
Khushi is a light-hearted romance flick that is set around a college campus. The movie is more likely to appeal to youngsters.
