Former Miss Universe plays a village belle in Bollywood

Lara Dutta, the winner of Miss Universe title for year 2000, is playing a simple village belle in director Apoorva Lakhia’s film Mumbai Se Aaya Mera Dost.
The film has Lara playing a Rajasthani girl called Kesar. She is a dreamy girl who falls for a city man, being played by Abhishek Bachchan.
Mumbai Se Aaya Mera Dost tells an unusual story of how electricity is introduced in a remote village in Rajasthan, and how it changes the lives of the villagers.
The film is expected to hit the marquee in the coming months.
It may be mentioned that Lara recently also signed to play Akshay Kumar’s heroine in a film titled Aan.
