Kareena Kapoor’s career seems to have boosted after the release of Main Prem Ki Diwani Hoon. The actress, recently signed by the likes of Sanjay Bhansali and Deepa Mehta, has now been roped in for Bengali director Rituparno Ghosh’s next movie.
Kareena seems to be on a film-signing spree nowadays. She has already lapped the plum roles in Bhansali’s Baajirao Mastani and Deepa Mehta’s ‘River Moon’.
And now the actress has caught the eye of Rituparno Ghosh whose Bengali film Chokher Bali, with Aishwarya Rai in the lead role, is getting ready for release.
Ghosh is making the modern day version of Vijay Anand classic ‘Guide’. The director has signed Kareena to play the role of the danseuse played by Waheeda Rehman in the original film.
Although Kareena’s male co-star in the film is yet to be decided, Ghosh is reported to be contemplating on signing intense Ajay Devgan for the role of guide played by Dev Anand in the original.
