Fusing eastern sensibilities with western musical sounds is composer Sandeep Chowta's forte.
Sandeep's last album 'Mitti-Songs from the Soil' is rich in sounds that remind one of bands like Enigma and Fatboy Slim.
Although songs in 'Mitti' can hardly be called 'songs from the soil' for the sounds incorporated in the album are western and the only thing that comes 'from the soil' is the traditional lyrics and the vocal rendition by singers like Sukhwinder Singh and Somwya Raoh, the album takes one's fancy because of Chowta's deft amalgamation of east with the west.
And now it is learnt that Chowta has already started work on his next album which again will be a fusion one.
And like 'Mitti', the young musician will compose, arrange and engineer all the tracks for his new album too.
