After having gone unnoticed in films like Satta and ‘Stumped’, Raveena Tandon is gearing up to play an interesting role.
The role is that of Chhoti Malkin in a tele-serial titled Sahib Biwi Aur Ghulam for Sahara Television. The serial is based on Bimal Mitra's novel of the same title, on which Guru Dutt too had made a movie.
It was earlier said that the acclaimed Bengali filmmaker Rituparno Ghosh would direct the serial. But now it is learnt that Ghosh was taken on the project as creative consultant for the script. As it the case, Ghosh already has his hands full with three Hindi films for which he will start shooting in November this year.
The serial will be directed by two of Ghosh's former assistants, Abhijit Guha and Sudeshna Roy.
But the absence of Ghosh from the director’s seat hasn’t bogged down Raveena’s spirit, who is still very keen to act in it. “I was keen to work with Rituparno Ghosh. I believe he is on as creative consultant and will even direct some of the crucial episodes," says the actress.
The telecast of the serial will commence on Sahara TV by March next year.
