In an effort to bridge the divide in the hearts of people between India and Pakistan, Urmila Matondakar along with other cast of the film Pinjar, recently presented a bouquet to the Wing Commander of Pakistan Rangers Sher Jaman at the zero line at the Wagah border.
The makers of Pinjar decided to release the audio at Indo-Pak border of Wagah and interact with the Pakistanis as the story of the film is set during the partition of India in 1947.
Apart from interacting with Pakistani rangers, Urmila also released movie’s audiocassette at the Wagah border.
The actress also slammed the anti-Pak rhetoric that has been a part of many so-called patriotic films released in Bollywood recently. Moreover, Urmila was driven to tears when she spoke an emotional dialogue from the movie in front of the crowd.
Pinjar is based on a famous novel by Amrita Pritam, depicting riots, mayhem, human sufferings and hope.
