After his critically acclaimed Pinjar , director Dr. Chandraprakash Dwivedi is now making another period drama on the son of Emperor Ashoka.
Speculations fill the air as the news of Dwivedi’s next project breaks. It is learnt that the film is titled Kunal who was the son of king Ashoka. The movie is based on a true story and is set in times 18 years after the Kalinga war.
Talks have been abuzz that Dwivedi has approached Aamir Khan to play the title role in the film. But the director has denied such reports, saying that he has so far finalized the first draft of the script and the casting will be finalized only after the final draft.
Meanwhile, an inside source has suggested that the director is looking forward to sign Manoj Bajpai to play an important role in the movie (but not the title role). Manoj recently won a National special jury award for his performance in Pinjar.
