No more compromises for Bachchan

Amitabh Bachchan is not only a legend, but also a thorough professional who expects the same from others. Sadly, his professionalism is not reciprocated all the time.

One instance is when Bachchan arrived on the sets of Hum Kaun Hai , a film that he was doing for his good friend Tito with whom he is associated for a very long time.

Asked to do a three-day guest appearance, it was only when he reached for the shooting that Bachchan came to know that the film was in Bengali as well as Hindi. So all had to do two takes for every shot.

Bachchan was slightly annoyed that this was not told to him beforehand.

Not only that, Bachchan is being blamed for the debacle of Hum Kaun Hai (the film has been a non-starter, to say the truth).

And this annoys the ‘Angry Young Man’ of yesteryears and he wonders if it is fair for people to blame the whole film’s failure on him, because after all, he did the small role in the film for his friend without even hearing the script.

But when reminded that he did Deewar , Lakshya and Kyon, Ho Gaya Na not for friends but as career choices, Bachchan
politely reasons that he had commitments and emotional reasons to do these films and insists that money was never the criteria.

There were talks in the industry that filmmakers were cashing on Bachchan’s popularity. So now, the mega star has decided that he will consider all scripts very carefully, there will be no more compromises for him and for the moment he has stopped signing new films.
