Tabu has been lying low after the release of her movie Meenaxi . But the actress has sprung back into action by signing a good number of plum projects.
It is not a mere coincidence that meaty roles fall into Tabu’s lap. Her acting credentials make her among the most sought after actresses for challenging roles.
Tabu was the favorite of Zoya Akhtar (Farhan Akhtar’s sister) to play the female lead in her directorial debut Luck By Chance, for which Saif Ali Khan has been signed as the hero.
And now it is learnt that Tabu has replaced Madhuri Dixit for the UTV-backed project, to be directed by Somnath Sen (of Leela ). The producers had previously signed Madhuri for the role, but the actress back out of the project because she is expecting her second baby. So, the producers approached Tabu to replace her.
Besides these two films, Tabu is also likely to act in Madhur Bhandarkar’s next film. The two haven’t worked together since Chandni Bar .
