Amitab Bachchan ‘s second film with Rajkumar Santoshi ‘Family’ was launched on Children’s Day in Mumbai.
‘Family’ not only brings together Bachchan and Santoshi after Khakee , but also Akhsay Kumar who starred in Khakee, but also Keshu Ramsay, who produced Khakee.
‘Family’ is jointly produced by Keshu Ramsay and AB Corp Ltd. and will be the sixth film of Bachchan and Akhsay together after Ek Rishta , Aankhen , Khakee, Anil Sharma’s Ab Tumhare Hawale Watan Sathiyo and Vipul Shah’s Waqt: Race Against Time.
‘Family’ has Bachchan playing a gangster and Akshay a chef with his own catering van and the story revolves around the families of Bachchan and Akshay.
The screenplay is co-written by Santoshi and Sridhar Raghvan, who also wrote Khakee. Santoshi believes the gangster's role will be "one of the most challenging roles" Bachchan has ever played.
‘Family’ also stars Ramsay’s son Aryaman, who plays a young man caught between two warring families, headed by Bachchan and Akshay.
