Music director Sandeep Chowta has embarked on a filmmaking career with a short film titled ‘Dead End’.
The film, with 10-minute running time, is based on the subject of drug abuse. It tells the story of five friends and their experience with drugs.
The five leading characters are played by ex-pop stars from all-girls pop band Viva – Anushka Manchanda and Mahua Kamat – well-known models Gautam Nagrath and Sumit Mishra and Ben Thomas.
Speaking about ‘Dead End’ at its premiere in New Delhi on Wednesday, Chowta said: “I have seen young people who have done this kind of stuff. I have seen a lot of young people who think it's very cool to do this. People who don't know the affects of it and people who just want to be a part of the group and they just get hooked on to it.”
The film is produced by a 17-year-old college student Tanya Khubchandani.
