SCOOP!! & NEWS Padmashree Laloo… premieres in Dubai 27th Jan 2005  16.30 IST By ApunKaChoice Bureau   Mahesh Manjrekar’s comic spoof Padmashree Laloo Prasad Yadav premiered in Dubai on Tuesday as a part of the Global Indian Film Awards and the Dubai Shopping Festival. The premiere of the film at the Grand Cineplex was attended by Bollywood stars Salman Khan , Katrina Kaif and Perizaad Zorabian . The film stars Sanjay Dutt , Mahesh Manjrekar , Johnny Lever, Masumeh Makhija , Anupama Verma and Kim Sharma . Railway Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav makes a brief appearance towards the end of the movie. Contrary to the prevailing notion, the film is not a political satire but an out-and-out action comedy about three characters Laloo, Prasad and Yadav who are smitten with a girl named Padma who is further in love with diamonds that are in a bank in Cape Town. PLPY will hit the theatres in India on January 28. However, it will not be released in Bihar and Jharkhand till Feb 27.
