SCOOP!! & NEWS The God of Sanjay Dutt17th Feb 2005 12.59 IST By ApunKaChoice Bureau The dashing Sanjay Dutt recently attended the premiere of Black , even though his film Shabd was also released on the same day. Why? Because Dutt himself says that his God had called him. And guess who that God is? It is none other than mega superstar Amitabh Bachchan . Yes, Dutt himself said so when he arrived at the premiere. When asked why is here (at the premiere) because his own film was also releasing that day? Dutt simply said, “I am here because of my God - Amitabh Bachchan. How can I not come when He has called me?”
This statement shouldn’t come as a surprise because most people know the gratitude Bachchan has for the Dutt family and vice-versa. When Kaante (a co-production of Dutt) was being released, we told you that Bachchan was doing the film because Dutt had requested him. Bachchan still hadn’t forgotten the chance Sunil Dutt gave him in Reshma Aur Shera when he was a newcomer. And when the junior Dutt approached him with the role, the Big B couldn’t turn him down. And Dutt is known to have a great soft heart behind that tough exterior, so when Bachchan asked him to come at the premiere of ‘Black’, Dutt couldn’t refuse. Even though Dutt was at the show just for a short while, it is the thought that counts. The gorgeous Aishwarya Rai also attended the premiere not just because she shares an excellent rapport with Bachchan, but also because of her good friend Sanjay Leela Bhansali , who directed her in hit flicks Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam and Devdaas .
