Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra , the heroine of this week’s release Karam , hates being termed a “sex symbol”.
“I hate, rather detest, the phrase sex symbol being linked to me. I am not doing anything in my films to be rated like that. For me, acting is more important and it is talent alone that survives in the end,” the 22-year-old actress is quoted by IANS.
Priyanka was in Chandigarh a few days back to announce her endorsement of cellular provider Spice Telecom for its new range of mobile services.
“This is the first product that I am endorsing. May be, it will add spice to my life,” she joked, speaking about her endorsement.
Spice, the oldest cellular telecom company in Punjab that was the market leader till three years ago, has signed up Priyanka as their brand ambassador for the next three years.
Priyanka, who hails from the region - her family lives in Ambala city in Haryana - had been a Miss World and Miss India before joining films in Mumbai.
The actress had recently tasted success with Mujhse Shaadi Karoge , which co-starred Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar .
She was also named the best actress in a negative role at the Filmfare awards ceremony last month.
