SCOOP!! & NEWS Waqt enjoying good run abroad27th Apr 2005 16.30 IST By AKC Bureau Amitabh Bachchan and Akshay Kumar starrer Waqt – A Race Against Time is enjoying a good run in the UK and the US. Waqt has become the first Hindi movie in a long time to make it to the top 10 in the UK charts in the first week of its release. The movie opened at no. 10 position and collected a respectable sum of £ 208,254. It is being screened at 34 theatres there. The film has also recorded better screen average than some of the already-running Hollywood flicks. 
In fact, Waqt has become the biggest opener among the Bollywood films that hit the UK theatres this year. In the US, Waqt opened at the nineteenth position and collected $ 454,800 on 52 screens. The movie’s earning per screen was better than four new Hollywood releases in the US this week. According to a trade analyst, Indian diaspora has a liking for family movies. That is one of the reasons why Waqt – a film on father-son relationship – is drawing crowds to theatres.
