After his debut hit ‘Maine Pyar Kiya’, actor Salman Khan is now starring in David Dhawan’s upcoming comedy, Maine Pyar Kyon Kiya .

Industry reports say the film is an adaptation of western film ‘Cactus Flower”.

Salman’s younger brother Sohail Khan is both the producer and co-star of the film. Sohail is confident that his movie has all the essential ingredients of a mainstream masala film and will hit bulls eye at the box office.

“Of course the risk factor is less. If one has celebs like Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Hrithik, such films indeed work. Especially when one has an efficient production house and can make a good film. It is extremely safe. As money is easily recovered through the stars and this again encourages one to make a good film. And if you are efficient enough you can also save some money along the way,” said Sohail.

Last July, Salman Khan, Priyanka Chopra and Akshay Kumar gave David Dhawan’s sagging career a boost with the hit romance comedy Mujhse Shaadi Karoge .

Salman stars once more in Dhawan’s upcoming comedy that is poised to repeat the success. Salman too is keeping his fingers crossed.

“In this my name is Sameer Malhotra. I had the same name in Mujse Shaadi Karoge. David Dhawan couldn’t come up with an another name so he decided that I should use the same name, moreover, my character too is similar. I am playing a role of a doctor in this film, who is very good at lying and how he lands up into trouble because of it, is what the film is about,” said Salman Khan.

Maine Pyar Kyun Kiya is the zany love story of a doctor, Samir (Salman Khan), his loyal nurse Naina ( Sushmita Sen ) and a frequently visiting patient Sonia ( Katrina Kaif ).

Sonia is a spoiled young girl who frequents Dr. Samir’s office frequently with her many miniscule problems. Dr. Samir is a Casanova and ends up falling for Sonia and her spoiled ways.

But in the meantime, all the other women who Samir is wooing believe he is married because that is how he averts giving them full attention. The problem is that Sonia is too busy wooing the rest of the world. Finally Sonia tells Samir that she will give him what he wants if she meets the one he claims he is married to.

Meanwhile, Naina remains a faithful partner to Dr. Samir helping him with everything big and small. Enter the fourth angle Pyaare (Sohail Khan) a funny guy who makes things a little less stressful but finally arrives in a place where what he reveals will not be funny but simply the truth.

What happens next will be found out when the movie hits screens in July.
