HOME | SCOOP!! & NEWS | BOLLYWOOD Priyanka eagerly awaits Barsaat06th Aug 2005 11.30 IST By Agencies Actress Priyanka Chopra is eagerly awaiting her next movie Barsaat which has her vying with Bipasha Basu for Bobby Deol ’s love. The former Miss World says she is not averse to featuring in two-heroine films if she is provided with a meaty role.
Priyanka, whose solo heroine films like Karam and Yakeen did not did too well at the box office, told reporters in Mumbai recently that she has had extremely good roles in successful films like Andaz and Aitraaz where she features along with Lara Dutta and Kareena Kapoor respectively. ‘Barsaat’ starring Bobby Deol, Bipasha Basu and Priyanka Chopra releases next week. “I do not mind if I am bracketed in a two-heroine project. Even in the latest "Barsaat", along with Bipasha Basu, I have an extremely challenging role,” She said. The young actress is looking forward to her forthcoming films like ‘Bluff Master’ and Krrish as well as projects in pipeline with Amitabh Bachchan and Nana Patekar . Speaking on the controversy surrounding the casting of J P Dutta's ‘Umrao Jaan’, Priyanka said she had not still signed the film. “I would love to do it as I love period films,” she said, but did not clarify whether she or Aishwarya Rai had been approached by the filmmaker. She said she began her career with ‘Andaz’ produced by Sunil Darshan who has directed ‘Barsaat’ as well. Bobby Deol said ‘Barsaat’ was of sentimental importance to him because he started his career with a home production by the same name. He said his career was going steady at the moment and he had no complaints. “It is not just action oriented films. But I am getting to play a variety of roles,” he said.
