Ever heard of a Bollywood film been remade in South even before its release? It has happened with a Salman Khan - Shilpa Shetty starrer.
The film is Shaadi Karke Phas Gaya Yaar starring Salman and Shilpa in the lead roles and it has been awaiting release for more than a year now and is stuck in a financial mess.
And the person who has remade the film in Tamil is none other than K.S. Adhiyaman – who directed the film in Bollywood.
And the film’s producer Bubby Kent has decided not to take any action against Adhiyaman for re-making the flick and releasing it in south.
Kent, who was in London for the past four months, was in for a big surprise when he returned Wednesday and learnt that Adhiyaman had remade the film in Tamil with Madhavan , and also released it.
"I was definitely taken by surprise because Adhiyaman had never discussed this at any point of time, but I guess he was fed up of the endless wait. Besides, the story is entirely his, though I hold the rights to the film," said Kent.
In fact, Kent gave up the idea of protesting after the encouraging opening that the southern version has got.
"The terrific opening the film has got in the south has led me to dismiss any problems I may have with Adhiyaman. The opening response will definitely boost the prospects of the Hindi version here. It shows that the film is already a prospective hit," mused Kent, adding that he was now looking at an October release for the film.
