Celina to do a film on marital rape

Celina Jaitley will be seen playing a battered wife who is the victim of marital rape in director Karan Razdan's next movie Vivah.

As learnt, the film would have a newcomer playing Celina's husband. Kirron Kher would play Celina's lawyer who fights her case in the court of law.

Speaking about her film, Celina told the Mid-Day: "It's about bruised and battered wives, on whom their husbands force themselves. We all know that marital rape exists in the upper strata of society as well. It's time that somebody took up the cudgels."

Razdan calls Celina's role in the film as the role of a lifetime.

Celina said she took the offer because she wanted to do a women-centric flick after her movie Silsiilay , and Vivah gives her a chance to prove her mettle in a solo lead.

Celina is seen playing a slightly comical role opposite Fardeen Khan in the Friday's release No Entry .
