HOME | SCOOP!! & NEWS | BOLLYWOOD Mohit is the USP of 'James': Ramu16th Sept 2005 18.15 IST By ApunKaChoice Bureau For the first time, Ram Gopal Varma , the maverick filmmaker, is launching a hero with the sole purpose of making him a star. ‘James’ was written exclusively for Mohit Ahlawat . When Varma first met the young man, he had no movie to offer him. But he promised Mohit that a script would be written exclusively for him, to launch him into the tinsel town. Varma saw the potential of a star in Ahlawat. 
And so James was conceptualized. Varma minces no words in admitting that the movie has little new to offer in terms of story. But the way the story is treated and the way Mohit is presented in the movie is what makes ‘James’ a film worth considering, according to Varma. “Mohit is the only actor for whom a whole project has been devised. It's the first time that I'm doing a so-called launch film… If I see potential in someone to develop into a star, I'm bound to build on that. That's what I'm doing with Mohit in James,” Varma told IANS. Speaking about the movie, Ramu told the agency: “James is one long action sequence carried forward by Mohit's charisma. He's the USP of the film.” ‘James’ has released today all over India with nearly 300 prints. This is the first time an RGV film is being released on such a big scale. Even Varma’s Sarkar had lesser print releases than ‘James’.
