The sensuous Basu belle will shed her glossy and glamorised image in a forthcoming film.
In Prakash Jha’s Apaharan , Bipasha Basu will wear a deglamorised look. She would be seen without any make-up, except just a little kajal in her eyes.
In the movie Bipasha plays a medical student from a small town. Her character is that of a very simple girl who falls in love with the character played by Ajay Devgan . Shooting for the movie is already complete.
Bipasha says slipping into her role in the film was easy because in real life she herself uses very little make-up.
“I am a simpleton at heart. In my personal life, I don’t wear makeup. Maybe just kajal,” says Bipasha.
Also, Bipasha will be seen wearing very simple clothes in Apaharan, mostly suits, salwar-kurtas or jeans-kurta.
Bipasha says the best part about her role in the film was that she used to get ready for her shots in a jiffy and didn’t have to sit for make-up.
Apart from her deglamorised look, Bipasha says working in the film was an “unforgettable” experience.
“Working with Prakash Jha and his team in Apaharan has been a very warm, unforgettable experience. It was a big change for me professionally. In fact, working in this film was a very important decision for me because of its socially relevant context,” says Bipasha.
The title Apaharan means kidnapping. The film is about the frequent kidnappings in Bihar. The movie is likely to release by this year-end or early next year.
