HOME | SCOOP!! & NEWS | BOLLYWOOD The 'Family' ordeal!09th Jan 2006 21.45 IST By Aparajita Ghosh The ill health of superstar Amitabh Bachchan has reportedly affected the completion of Rajkumar Santoshi’s movie Family - Ties Of Blood . The movie, produced jointly by Keshu Ramsay and Bachchan’s AB Corp, was almost complete when the Big B fell sick with an intestine infection in the month of November last year.
Some dubbing work involving Mr. Bachchan remained to be done before the movie could be ready for release in the second week of January. As Bachchan recuperated from the illness, the producer and the sound technicians of the film hoped that the superstar would take out an hour or two for the dubbing work. As learnt, some of Bachchan’s dialogues in the movie had unwanted disturbances and needed to be recorded again. A technician from the movie’s production team is quoted as saying that just an hour was required of Mr. Bachchan. But the Big B could not take out the time. Producer Keshu Ramsay was under tremendous pressure to release the film on time and therefore he reportedly has been working overtime with sound designer Kiran Ramsay to clear the disturbances from dialogues. However, the final product is still not believed to be satisfactory. Even the movie’s actor Aryeman, who is making his debut in ‘Family’, is quoted as saying that he was on the verge of falling into depression because of the pressure of completing the movie’s final print in time. However, director Rajkumar Santoshi and producer Ramsay are not openly blaming Bachchan for the delay. ‘Family’ is slated to hit the theatres on January 13. The movie stars Amitabh, Akshay Kumar , Aryeman , Sushant Singh and Bhumika Chawla . The movie tells the tale of a feud between two families.
