Though a remake of a Korean film, 'Zinda' was liked by the niche audience. 
"I am happy with the way it turned out. We did a lot of publicity for the film and of course Sanjay Dutt and Sanjay Gupta made this film technically very sound. It was also critically acclaimed and it was liked by a certain audience," says John. So, the year's beginning for the model-turned-actor has been rocking. The next release for the hunk is Taxi Number 9211 , with Nana Patekar and the sexy Sameera Reddy . On his experience of working with Nana John says, "I did hear a lot about him, about his eccentric ways while shooting. But I had a fabulous time working with him. He is so professional at his work; he is a treat to work with." On the film John says, "The film is really fun. It's all about a taxi. It's a comedy-cum-thriller. It has given me an opportunity to explore new acting skills. I think it will be liked by the audiences." After that John’s next release is scheduled to be Kabul Express , which has been mostly shot in Kabul, where he plays, a journalist. "The film has a strong script and shooting in Afghanistan was a true experience with the land mines, the landscape, it was excellent," John says. Apart from films, John has become an icon for the youth today. And now a whole lot of endorsements beckon him. He has already appeared in Yamaha and Diet Pepsi ads. And now the entire city of Mumbai is thronged by the hoardings of Bombay Dyeing, where John has a new look. "I have a retro look in the campaign, oversized shades, satin shirts etc. It's a nice campaign. I quite like doing ads, as it is also a form of acting. You have to be effective and make the viewer comfortable about the product you endorse," says John, who used to earlier work in an ad- agency. In 2006, the stars of some of the actors are really shining bright. But for John not only the beginning but also the entire year looks great.
