Did Abhishek Bachchan dump Dipannita to be with Aishwarya Rai?

Abhishek Bachchan is glowing with all the attention he is currently getting for his professional as well as his personal life.

However, sources claim that Abhishek, the ever cultured and soft-spoken gentleman, has recently unceremoniously dumped girlfriend of 10 months, Dipannita Sharma .

It is claimed that he dumped Dipannita to be with current love Aishwarya Rai .

Dipannita started her career as a model and then turned to acting. She has done several films like ‘16 December’, Asambhav , My Brother Nikhil and Koi Aap Sa , which unfortunately flopped at the box-office.

Abhishek and Dipannita were rumoured to be having an affair for 10 months. Model turned actress Sharma was introduced to Abhi by good friends Sonali Bendre and Goldie Behl.

Splits in a relationship are a natural thing, especially in Bollywood. But what is uncanny is the undignified way in which Abhishek ended the affair.

Friends of the actress claim that Abhishek, who has such high reverence in Bollywood circles for his graceful and decent manner towards women, took the coward’s way out when it came to informing Dipannita about his feelings for Ash.

Dipannita wanted to do something special for her boyfriend on his birthday after spending so much time away from him, due to his continuous round the clock shootings.

But Abhi feigned an excuse that he was too busy to take any time out from his shoots and also due to his dad’s ( Amitabh Bachchan ) recent illness, he did not want to celebrate his birthday in any way.

All this while he was rumoured to have been getting close to Ash during the shooting of their forthcoming movie Umrao Jaan .

However, on the night of his birthday he threw a lavish party inviting the who’s who of Bollywood.

Ash was invited to this grand do and she was the center of Abhishek’s attention. No prizes for guessing that Dipannita was not invited. In fact, she didn’t even know that her beau, then, was throwing the lavish party.

Several of Dipannita’s friends in the modeling world as well as the film industry are hopping mad over the way Abhishek discarded her.

Sources claim that finally, it was Dipannita who had to confront him with the affair with Ash, and finally they parted ways. This was unfair exclaims a friend of Dipannita’s, especially since the friend recalls that it was Abhishek who kept on pursuing Dipannita.

The friend states that Dipannita was never too keen on getting into a relationship with someone from the film industry. But Abhishek relentlessly kept on calling her and asking her to out with him.

And finally, she agreed to go out with him. It is also rumoured that Bipasha Basu , Dipannita’s close friend and roommate during their modeling days cautioned her about Bachchan Junior’ s feelings for the beautiful Ms. Rai.

Unfortunately, Dipannita had always heeded Abhishek’s advice and never spoke about their relationship in public at any point of time. And doing so now would probably do no good for the lass.

However, finally the good boy of Bollywood, Abhishek’s skeletons from the closet seem to be emerging.
