Konkana was the lead player in Bhandarkar’s National Award winning film Page 3 . Although Konkana didn’t land any role in Bhandarkar’s forthcoming flick Corporate , she has indeed clinched a plum role in ‘Traffic Signal’, which will be about the life of several characters at Mumbai’s traffic signals.
The film will have Konkana playing a sex worker.
Speaking to a news agency, Bhandarkar said Konkana was the ideal choice for the role.
"I felt she would be the ideal choice for the character though she hasn't ever played such a role on screen so far. Her approach to acting and her attitude led me to cast her for the role," said Bhandarkar.
The shooting of ‘Traffic Signal’ is reported to be underway in Nitin Desai's ND Studio in the suburbs of Mumbai.
Besides Konkana, the film also stars Kunal Khemu and Ranvir Sheorey.
The movie’s producers, Sahara One, are already said to be making plans to take the film to international film festivals.
