This is despite the fact that Ash hasn't been having a particularly great time of late either with the box office or with the critics. 
As mentioned earlier, 'Provoked' is the real life story of a battered Indian woman who went on to become a role model for all victims of domestic violence in Britain. The movie has had positive reviews both for it's filming and Ash's performance. Mundhra proudly says that the viewers and the critics have justified his choice of Ash for the coveted role. "Skeptics asked me why I had opted for Aishwarya for the role of victim Kiranjit Ahluwalia, but I was always convinced that she is a talented and sensitive actress and 'Provoked' has proved it beyond any doubt."
