For Shahid Kapur , a box office hit is not the only measure of success in Bollywood.
Shahid last release was alongside his girlfriend Kareena Kapoor36 China Town a romantic comedy, which has been a success at the box office.
Shahid told a popular magazine in an interview that he tries to stay motivated by the work itself -- and not by a film's success -- because a blockbuster hit is never a guarantee.
``I feel it is a trap _ if you start getting your satisfaction from the success of the film that's where the trap begins,'' said Shahid. ``I work to get satisfaction from my work regardless of whether a film does well or not.''
Shahid said the uncertainty of the movie business made him see the futility of trying to gauge whether the film would be a hit based on its script. ``Nothing is foolproof. Least of all in this industry. So the best way to go about it is hard work.''
Shahid said even that was a gamble since ``after putting in all this hard work, you are still not sure if the film would do well or not.''
In his next release Chup Chup Ke Shahid plays a town hustler who fakes his own death to get insurance money.
