Rakhi Sawant now kisses into controversy

Bollywood ‘item girl’ Rakhi Sawant recently danced her way into controversy by shaking her booty in skimpy clothes, and now she has kissed, or rather been kissed her way into yet another controversy.

Rakhi has accused Mika, brother of pop singer Daler Mehandi , of molesting her at a private function in Mumbai early Sunday, police said.

In a police complaint, Rakhi said her friend was also assaulted by Mika's bodyguard.

Oshiwara police said a case has been registered against Mika under sections 323 (assault) and 354 (molestation) of IPC.

Rakhi was not available for comment but her secretary Abhishek Awasthi said that the incident took place at around 2 am today at `Someplace Else', a restaurant in suburban Andheri.

The occasion was Mika's birthday party, he said. "Mika and Rakhi have known each other for the last few years. She went to the party after being requested by Mika", he added.

At the party, instead of the `customary form of greeting like hug or a peck, Mika kissed her forcibly", Awasthi charged.

Mika's bodyguards also roughed up a friend of Rakhi, he said adding "Mika immediately left for Delhi".

Police said that a search was on for Mika.

Meanwhile, upset with the row between his brother Mika and Rakhi, Mehandi today described "party kissing" as an unwelcome intrusion into Indian culture.

"This party kissing is not Indian culture. Rather it is an unwelcome intrusion into it," Mehandi said in Hyderabad after Rakhi accused his brother Mika of molestation during his birthday party.

Mehandi said the two artistes should resolve their row mutually. "We are all performers and artistes. We shouldn't be going public against each other. Both should resolve this row mutually," he said.
