What happens when an actor is unsatisfied with the costumes he is given to wear for his movie role.
Upen Patel found himself in an unpleasant situation when his outfits for the film Namaste London failed to match up to his expectations. Seeing a disgruntled Upen on the sets, the movie’s director Vipul Shah made a rather unusual gesture to appease the model-turned-actor.
Vipul loosened his purse strings and shelled out £5000 to Upen to buy outfits of his own choice.
Upen took a day off and went shopping in London to buy the outfits that he felt would go along with his character in the film. He bought low waist Armani jeans, trousers, shoes and other accessories from Oxford and Bond Street.
‘Namaste London’ stars Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif in the lead roles. The film deals with a very contemporary topic, relevant to both Britons and NRIs living in the UK.
Reports have it that Peter Field, who has worked for films like ‘Troy’, ‘The Da Vinci Code’, ‘Tomb Raider’ and ‘Tomorrow Never Dies’, will be the director of photography for the movie.
