Farhan Akhtar is all set to break new barriers with the Shah Rukh Khan and Priyanka Chopra starrer Don .

'Don' – the remake of the Amitabh Bachchan – Zeenat Aman starrer Don (1978) , has been shot almost entirely in Thailand and Malaysia.

'Don' has Kareena Kapoor in a special appearance – the role which was done by Helen in the original.

"Comparisons with the original film are inevitable, but I would not like to pay any attention to them because they serve no purpose. The original film was a great movie, and was a modern film for its times. My film also has a very modern look for the times we live in now," Akhtar said recently.

According to him, the film involves a lot of daring stunts that both SRK and Priyanka wanted to perform themselves.

"Both Shah Rukh and Priyanka wanted to perform their stunts themselves and both have done very well," Akhtar said.

"As far as the music of the film goes, "we have retained two original superhit numbers, `Khaike Paan' and `Main Hoon Don' but the rest of the music is by Shankar Ehsan Loy and they have done a very good job."

When asked why he was remaking the Amitabh Bachchan-starrer movie, Akhtar said, "It is one of favourite movies of all time and this is something I have always wanted to do.”

“The shooting is over and now we are just adding finishing touches to the movie. So far I really like it, but I hope the audience also shares my view on the movie", Akhtar added.

'Don' is scheduled for a Diwali/Eid release this year.
