Bollywood’s glam doll Neetu Chandra made some new friends during her homework sessions for Madhur Bhandakar’s movie Traffic Signal .
A filmmaker like Bhandarkar prompts actors to bring out their best. So when Neetu (who made her debut in Garam Masala ) got the role of a gajrawali (a flower vender) in ‘Traffic Signal’, she actually visited the streets of Santa Cruz to pick up the mannerisms of flower-sellers.
And during these visits Neetu made good friends with a Kathiawadi woman called Anjali, who helped her to get into the skin of the character.
But getting the body language right was just half the battle won. When it came to dubbing, Neetu found it hard to get right the lingo of flower sellers.
So she called up Anjali for help. She made Anjali deliver her dialogues and then imitated them during dubbing.
‘Traffic Signal’ is a dark comedy based on the life of people living around the traffic signal. The movie stars Konkona Sen Sharma , Ranvir Shorey and Kunal Khemu . It is presented by Perpect Picture Company.
