Akshay Kumar returns to action genre

It has been close to three years when Akshay Kumar was last seen in an action flick.

The handsome star who began his acting career as an action hero in a string of ‘Khiladi’ movies, had a complete image makeover in the last three years. From action and fights, Akshay moved to romantic and comedy roles.

In fact, comedy is something he has become very good at.

Lest he gets stuck in a fixed image again, Akshay is now signing films of different genres. One of the projects he has recently signed is an out-and-out action flick to be produced by Rohan Sippy and directed by Sridhar Raghavan (who directed Ek Haseena Thi ).

Raghavan is said to have written the movie’s script keeping Akshay in mind.

And when he narrated the script to Akshay, the star immediately gave his consent to the project.

Rohan Sippy says a lot of preparation is needed before shooting this movie. In fact, the enterprising producer is already said to be working on the film’s promotional plans.

Akshay presently has three films on hand and all of them are different genres. There is Anees Bazmee’s comedy film Welcome with Katrina Kaif, there is Priyadarshan’s romantic drama ‘Chandramukhi’ and Sajid Khan’s multistarrer Hey Baby .

However, Akshay’s next release will be Namaste London which is a love story between a Punjabi boy and a London girl.
