As the film is set to hit the theatres on Thursday, January 25, here are few interesting tidbits about the movie.
The film has Priyanka playing an item girl who is obsessed with Karan Johar . In fact, so fascinated is she by Johar that she adds another ‘k’ into her name and calls herself ‘Kkamini’.
Originally, Advani had planned to have a cameo from Karan Johar in the film. But later he simply settled for a voiceover by the director.
‘Salaam-e-Ishq’ also features two songs that were originally composed for Johar’s production Kal Ho Na Ho which was Advani’s directorial debut.
Another interesting thing about the film is that while Salman plays a rockstar in it, his brother Sohail Khan plays a farmer named Ramdayal. Isha Koppikar plays Sohail’s love interest.
The movie also marks the Bollywood debut of South African actress Shannon Esra, who plays a New Yorker. In reality Shannon is a brunette but she dyed her hair blonde for her role in the film.
Shooting the film for over 131 days (more than four months) was “an exhausting experience” for Advani. ‘Salaam-e-Ishq’ will also be the first Hindi film to be screened digitally in theatres.
