But love blossomed between them only recently. Ritwik has been a family friend of Neha in Delhi. He was also very friendly with Neha’s dad and used to play squash with him.
Through last ten years, Neha and Ritwik have been friends and have seen each other go through ups and downs in life. They kept in touch through the times when Neha struggled to make her mark in Bollywood and Ritwik struggled to make a name for himself in squash. Neha admits that media played cupid by linking them together around a year back. What was just friendship slowly began taking a new shape. Love was taking root. This change in her relationship with Ritwik affected Neha’s career also, but in a positive way. She moved away from raunchy image and began signing movies that offered her meaningful and significant roles. And recently, when Ritwik shifted to Mumbai, the physical distance between them was reduced and the couple have been seen together at various parties and social dos. Although Neha previously used to call their relationship “just friendship”, now she admits that love has entered their life. Neha calls Ritwik a “friend, philosopher and guide”. She also concedes that marriage is a possibility but it is not on the cards for a few years at least.
