Upen Patel relegated to the sidelines

Actor Upen Patel is reportedly unhappy over being relegated to the sidelines in the promos of Vipul Shah’s movie ‘Namastey London’.

The film, starring Akshay Kumar , Katrina Kaif , Upen Patel and Rishi Kapoor , is slated to hit the theatres in March. The movie’s promos have already gone on air.

However, Upen Patel, who plays a Pakistani in the film, has been given no importance in the promos. Reports even have it that Akshay has got his role chopped off in the movie by a considerable extent.

Akshay is often accused of chopping the roles of his co-stars. But the actor takes the accusation in his own stride and even made fun of it in Priyadarshan’s movie ‘Bhagam Bhag’.

While Upen is voicing his displeasure to his friends and some of the film’s crew, director-producer Vipul Amrutlal Shah says Upen knew clearly about his role in the film when the script was given to him in the beginning.

Although Akshay appears in almost all the songs in the film, Upen has just one song with Katrina.

Vipul Shah says the new promos will feature clips from this song. So, Upen needs to be patient.

‘Namastey London’ is the story of a British girl (Katrina) who is married to a Punjabi guy (Akshay) against her wishes. She decides to leave her husband to be with her British boyfriend. How the husband wins her love is what the film is about.
