Not in real life but in her forthcoming movie ‘Hattrick’, Rimi Sen plays a fan of Indian cricket star Mahendra Singh Dhoni.
The movie, directed by Milan Luthria , is releasing at a time when the cricket euphoria is at its high due to the World Cup in the Caribbean.
Hat Trick tells the story of few characters whose lives revolve around cricket. The film has Rimi Sen playing the love interest and wife of actor Kunal Kapoor . She has no interest in cricket until she gets married to Kunal. Thereafter, she becomes a huge fan of Mahendra Singh Dhoni (Indian wicketkeeper and hard hitter of the ball). And her obsession for Dhoni becomes a regular annoyance for her husband.
Rimi says the movie’s director initially wanted her to play a Sachin Tendulkar fan. But she refused.
Why?
Rimi says she once used to be a die-hard Tendulkar fan but was left heart-broken after he got married. Therefore she asked Milan Luthria to let her play a Dhoni fan instead.
Rimi’s choice may be perfect because as far as cricket pundits opine Dhoni may emerge as one of the most outstanding players in the world cup.
