Having completed the shooting of Vivek Agnihotri’s movie ‘Goal’, John Abraham will now be headed to South India to shoot Nagesh Kukunoor’s film Aashayein .
John will be seen in a variety of roles in his forthcoming films. In Anurag Basu’s No Smoking he plays a compulsive smoker trying to quit cigarettes. In Goal he plays a footballer.
And now, from the first week of June, John will begin shooting for ‘Aashayein’ (Hopes) in which he plays a gambler. The film tells the story of a reckless man who gambles his money and time away until one day he realizes that he has little time left to live.
John says he was absolutely “bowled over” by the script of ‘Aashayein’. John has read the script as many as five times and every time he was driven to tears.
Surprisingly, the movie may not feature any heroine opposite John.
John adds that he finds Kukunoor’s cinema “very inspiring”. He is particularly fond of Kukunoor’s films Iqbal and Dor .
‘Aashayein’ will be shot in a single start-to-finish 2-month long schedule in South India.
John says from now on he will do only one film at a time.
