Naqaab may have evoked a 'less than encouraging' response back home but the romantic thriller has rocked the box office in the United Kingdom, making it to the top ten in its opening weekend.

After Apne - the strong bond of love and togetherness between the yesteryears' matinee idol Dharmendra and his sons Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol swept cinegoers in UK off their feet over the past weeks, it's the turn of 'Naqaab', being promoted as the best thriller from the stable of Abbas-Mastan , to keep audiences in Britain 'on the edge of their seats'.

Featuring Bobby Deol in the lead along with Akshaye Khanna and debutant Urvashi Sharma , 'Naqaab' is at ninth position in the UK top ten in its opening weekend.

Released on July 13, it earned 75, 750 Pounds in its opening weekend from just 30 cinema screens. It was in the UK top ten charts alongside Hollywood blockbusters like 'Harry Potter and The Order of the Phoenix', 'The Pirates of the Caribbean: at World's End', 'Shrek 3', 'Live Free Or Die Hard' and 'Ocean's Thirteen'.

Further, the film netted the fourth highest pre-screen average at 2508 UK pounds, behind only 'Harry Potter..', 'Shrek 3' and 'live Free or Die Hard'.

Shot in the scenic locales of Dubai, 'Naqaab' is the story of a middle-class girl called Sophie who meets a rich person Karan. Sophie falls in love with him and they get engaged.

Sophie then meets Sunny, a struggling actor and in spite of being engaged to Karan, finds herself falling for him.

Sophie has a past that is threatening her future.

Sunny too has a history that can jeopardize the girl's future and Karan, too has a secret, which, if unleashed, could shatter all the three lives.

Produced by Tips Films , 'Naqaab', with its tagline "The most shocking thriller of the Year", had raised tremendous hype in film and media circles in the run up to its release.

This is evident from the huge rush witnessed in advance bookings for the film in many places across the country.

'Naqaab's success in UK comes close on heels of Anil Sharma 's 'Apne' making it to the UK top ten for two successive weeks after its worldwide release on June 29.

Bollywood seems to be the flavour in the UK.
