It was not the Bachchans but Aishwarya Rai who was indispensable for Ram Gopal Varma’s Sarkar Raj .
Ram Gopal Varma may be repeating Amitabh Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan (for obvious reasons) for the sequel to his hit movie Sarkar , but the filmmaker says he could have made the sequel without the Bachchans. It is Aishwarya, Ramu adds, whose presence was absolutely must to the film.
“I could have made ‘Sarkar Raj’ without the father-son duo, but not without Ash,” Ramu is quoted as saying in a media report.
In fact, Ash is the protagonist of the sequel. And Ramu has given many shades to her character. She is generous but also shrewd. She is kind but also aggressive. In Ramu’s words, Ash’s character in ‘Sarkar Raj’ is a mix of Phoolan Devi and Mother Teresa.
Ramu and Ash have together worked very hard on this character.
The filmmaker has reportedly had lengthy discussions with Ash on this subject, and Ash, too, is said to be leaving no stone unturned to sink her teeth deep into the character.
The shooting of ‘Sarkar Raj’ is underway in Hyderabad.
