The film, directed by Manish Tiwary, is a youth flick that presents perspectives of various youngsters in a college. Shreyas plays a young Bihari guy named Sanjay from a conservative Brahmin family. His co-star Nikita Anand plays Prerna, a rich and modern girl for whom kissing a guy is not a big deal.
There is a scene in the film when both Sanjay and Prerna are in a hostel room and Sanjay compliments her rather shyly. In response, Prerna moves close to him and plants a kiss on his lips.
Shreyas says he felt a little inhibited and nervous before shooting this scene. He and Nikita had a casual chat before the shoot to prepare themselves up. Then, the shot was canned.
In fact, the shot had to be retaken twice because the director wanted to capture it from different angles. Both Shreyas and Nikita were very professional in giving the scene.
‘Dil Dosti Etc.’ also stars Imaad Shah (Naseeruddin Shah’s son).
