Shirish Kunder’s next directorial venture will be about global warming.
At the first glance, global warming as the subject of a film may seem off-putting to those who seek entertainment from cinema. But Shirish Kunder says his Joker will not be a docu-drama.
‘Joker’ will be a superhero flick with heavy doses of action and comedy. It will deal with a serious issue in a very entertaining way, Kunder assures us.
In fact, Kunder has conceived the whole movie as a trilogy, meaning there will be ‘Joker 2’ and ‘Joker 3’ after the first film.
Kunder also states that he is looking forward to set new technical benchmarks with ‘Joker’. The movie will have lots of special effects to create stylish action sequences.
We have already seen Kunder’s innovative cinematic vision in Jaaneman . Although the movie was a flop, it had very unique cinematography. Kunder hopes to surpass that in ‘Joker’.
Akshay Kumar has been signed to play the lead role in the film.
Kunder says he was looking to sign an actor who could do action and comedy with conviction. Akshay fits the bill. Now he is searching for another actor to play the negative role. This actor, too, will need to be very good in action scenes.
It is still a long way before ‘Joker’ goes on the floors. A great deal of pre-production work needs to be done first.
