HOME | SCOOP!! & NEWS | BOLLYWOOD Tanushree Dutta overcomes her fear of water13th Oct 2007 14.57 IST By ApunKaChoice Not many people know that actress Tanushree Dutta has been suffering from aquaphobia since her childhood. Tanushree is playing an action heroine in producer Sahil Khan’s jungle thriller Ramma – The Saviour . While shooting the film in the jungles of Thailand, Tanushree got over some of her chronic fears.
One such fear was aquaphobia, the fear of water. Since childhood Tanushree had hated stepping into swimming pools. In fact, she never learnt swimming. But Tanushree faced her fears recently when she had to shoot certain portions of ‘Ramma – The Saviour’ in and under water. The film’s action director Peter Hann, who has also been teaching martial arts to Tanushree, gave the actress some basic tips about swimming and holding breath underwater. Thereafter, Tanushree was harnessed to a safety cable to keep her from drowning. Tanushree performed with grit and conviction and the scene turned out fine. She even shot an underwater fighting sequence. Tanushree says after shooting these sequences she has overcome her fear of water. Apart from this, the actress also conquered her fear of insects and reptiles while shooting in the jungles of Thailand.
