Hrithik Roshan to undergo treatment on knee in Singapore

Bollywood superstar Hrithik Roshan has flown to Singapore for treatment on his knee, which he damaged filming action shots.

Hrithik told a newspaper he had pushed himself too hard for action scenes while filming the hit movies Krrish and Dhoom 2 , and tore a ligament in his right knee.

Hrithik played a superhero who glides over water in ‘Krrish’ and a smooth-talking thief in ‘Dhoom 2’.

``I basically succumbed to the notion that we're all heroes and pain doesn't matter,'' said Hrithik, describing how he strapped his knee to complete shots. ``I understand now how foolish I have been.''

Hrithik said it was difficult to follow doctors' advice to rest.

``I have to force myself to rest. It's the hardest thing for me to do,'' said Hrithik. ``Resting is against my personality.''

Hrithik said he would be in Singapore for six weeks for physiotherapy.

Hrithik will return in January for the release of his new historical movie Jodhaa Akbar based on a romance between the 16th century Mughal emperor Akbar, played by Hrithik and a Hindu princess, Jodha Bai, played by the gorgeous Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.

Hrithik completed the painstaking training, travelling and shooting required for 'Jodhaa Akbar', which releases next month.

To add to it, the 'Jodhaa Akbar' shoot got extended and treatment for his knee took a backseat again.

Now the pain cannot be wished away any longer. And it has become essential for Hrithik to put all work on the back burner and go abroad for complete treatment and rest.

"While working towards fulfilling my commitments to all my work - ads and film, I did not care much about my knee pain and have neglected my doctor's advice to not put any stress on it and take complete rest," said Hrithik in a press release.

"I am giving my health prior importance now, so that none of my further commitments suffer."
