None of the movies that Neil Nitin Mukesh has recently signed is a full-on love story.
Perhaps his rugged and stubbled look does not make him perfect to be a romantic hero. Or perhaps it is Neil’s conscious choice of roles after playing a rogue in his first film Johnny Gaddaar last year.
The fact is that Neil presently has three films under his belt, and none of them is a love story.
Neil recently signed Tigmanshu Dhulia’s film Fame which is about a bunch of youths who don’t mind taking any road to riches. In their hunger for fame, the youths stray from the right path and repent later. ‘Fame’ is again a moralistic fable like ‘Johnny Gaddaar’.
Another film Neil recently signed is a supernatural thriller called ‘Freeze’. The film has Neil playing an ordinary man who becomes a superhero after chancing upon supernatural powers. The movie will have lots of special effects. It will be directed by first-timer Jehangir Surti.
Apart from these two, Neil is also working in Sudhir Mishra’s Tera Kya Hoga Johnny , which is a story of a boy named Johnny. Neil doesn’t play the lead role in the film but has an important part.
Neil says he is not deliberately shunning romantic movies. He is just picking the best of what he has been offered so far.
