Some may view it as sacrilegious. But Bollywood bombshell Mallika Sherawat is set to act in a film on the life of Jesus Christ.
Reportedly, Mallika will star is an American film titled ‘The Aquarian Gospel’, to be directed by Australian filmmaker Drew Heriot.
The film’s story will span seventeen years of Christ’s life from age 13 to 30, which, it is believed, Jesus spent traveling through India, Tibet, Afghanistan, Persia and Egypt.
In the movie, Mallika Sherawat will play an Indian girl named Saraswati who befriends Jesus during his stay and travels in India.
JESUS IN INDIA?
In 1894, a Russian doctor and traveller Nicholas Notovitch made some shocking revelations in his book ‘The Unknown Life of Christ’ in which he claimed that Jesus traveled to holy places in India and met many holy men during the course of his travels. Notovitch’s claims were based on his finding of ancient scrolls during his travels to Ladakh in the 19th century.
However, Notovitch’s claims were meted with doubts by the western world.
